MASARATI QUATTROPORTE

QUATTROPORTE EXTERIORS

The Quattroporte is an extraordinary car, and its design is no less impressive. The challenge of stylistically combining the sporty performance and classical elegance of the most famous Italian luxury saloon has always fascinated the greatest designers: Pietro Frua, Bertone, Giorgetto Giugiaro, Marcello Gandini and Pininfarina.
Maserati’s latest creation is a worthy successor to their masterpieces, retaining a streamlined, absolutely dynamic look.
The front is immediately recognisable with a distinctive front: the traditional Maserati oval grille, with convex vertical bars, leads on to the majestic bonnet and the new front light assembly, with LED day lights.
Its style and elegance are combined with physical muscular curves that caress the side from the familiar three air vents to the all-LED rear lights and the integral boot spoiler.

QUATTROPORTE INTERIORS

Getting into the Quattroporte is like entering an exclusive lounge.
The interior is simply faultless in design, quality, and craftsmanship:
the luxury wood panelwork is a joy to behold, whilst the soft leather upholstery is a delight both to touch and to smell.
The Poltrona Frau® leather, the fine wood and the stitching, styled in keeping with the purest handcrafted tradition, seamlessly contour the sleek lines of the dashboard, the central tunnel and the doors, enveloping the passengers in an atmosphere of luxury.
The interior is dominated by technical innovation and materials to transform a journey into a unique experience, relaxation and excitement combined. Brushed aluminium frames the 8.4” display of the Maserati Touch Control, in the middle of the dashboard: a portal allowing user-friendly management of the multiple information and entertainment systems.

The all new Maserati Quattroporte offers the highest levels of interior comfort, making long journeys a true pleasure. Special attention has been paid to the rear passengers, with extra legroomthere’s plenty of space to stretch one’s legs and enjoy the trip in the luxury of the car’s beautifully finished interior.

QUATTROPORTE ENGINE

Maserati has always been famed for its innovative engine design: the new 3.8 litre twin turbo V8 installed on the Quattroporte raises the marque’s tradition to new heights, with a long list of sophisticated solutions that make this the most high-tech engine ever installed on a Maserati car.
Around the classical V90 layout, Maserati has built a new-generation engine capable of generating a power of 530 HP and a torque of 710 Nm in overboost. Amazing figures, that allow the Quattroporte to spring from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 307 km/h.
With 95% of torque already available at less than 1,600 rpm, the Quattroporte’s V8 combines the smoothest running with outstanding performance at any engine speed, combined with a special focus on fuel consumption and emissions.
The use of small, parallel-mounted twin turbines helps to prevent turbo lag, giving swifter response to every touch on the accelerator and elasticity in all driving conditions. A forthright character, reinforced by the use of double continuous cam phasers on both cylinder heads.
Another distinctive feature is the high pressure (200 bar) direct injection system, which improves combustion at high rpm by atomising the fuel.

QUATTROPORTE TECHNOLOGY

Travelling and driving pleasure: the Quattroporte is a source of enjoyment for both passengers and driver thanks to its mechanical engineering. Together with the engine, the chassis, transmission and suspensions are the main factors in the combination of comfort and uncompromising performance for which the Maserati flagship has become famous.

Large amounts of aluminium are used in the construction of the chassis and body, considerably reducing weight, while special steel stiffeners ensure outstanding torsional rigidity, in spite of the very long wheelbase.
The suspensions, double wishbone at the front and multilink at the rear, are controlled by the latest version of the Sport Skyhook electronic system, with new shocks featuring continuous damping variation. Pressing the button provided on the central tunnel switches to a more rigid damper setting, limiting load transfers when driving in sportier style.
The new 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox with self-adapting software is lighter and more efficient than the previous generation and introduces two overdrive gears specially developed to reduce fuel consumption and increase comfort during long journeys at high speed. The driver can select automatic mode or manage gear changes manually by means of the steering-wheel paddles or the lever on the central tunnel. In both cases, pressing the SPORT button gives quicker gear shifts and more decidedly sporting handling, providing the utmost in driving pleasure without ever sacrificing passenger comfort.
The I.C.E. (Increased Control Efficiency) mode is designed for remarkable fuel economy, relaxed driving and extremely low grip conditions. The transmission changes gear as softly as possible, both going up through the gears and returning back down.

QUATTROPORTE SAFETY

The assurance of optimal, full protection is fundamental to an enjoyable journey, so the Maserati Quattroporte is equipped with the very latest active and passive safety systems.
The Maserati Stability Program (MSP), an advanced electronic system which, if the vehicle begins to skid, reduces torque from the engine and activates the brakes to stabilise it in just a few milliseconds.
The Bi-Xenon front headlights have an integral rotation function that lights up the road and the verges, increasing night-time cornering safety. The electronic unit controlling the full and dipped beams monitors a number of parameters and automatically adjusts the beam depth to deliver the best visibility at all times. Last but not least, the LED day lights make the car immediately visible.
In terms of passive safety, the new Quattroporte is equipped with 6 airbags: two dual-stage front airbags for the driver and front passenger; two side airbags, integrated in the front seats, to protect the hips and torsos of the front occupants. For lateral collisions, two additional side bags protect the heads of the front and rear occupants, installed in the roof.
